ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Following on from my experiments with pigment and bleach as well as Paint/collage, this pair of paintings/prints (the other is also featured in my profile) are inspired by japanese folk art, using the sun, minimal landscapes, depictions of the wind and waves and blocks of colour. I also realised the potential in stripping off layers of cardboard between layers of paint/pigment that give the piece a more aged effect.
