This piece is part of the Continuum project: a series of paintings that loosely explore the Japanese meditative practice of drawing an Enso; a circle drawn in a single stroke. The practice reflects the constant but also finite nature of time. Once the circle is closed, it cannot be changed, but a new one can be drawn. The circle may not be perfect, but it is representative of a moment in time. This painting engages with the desire to let go of what has come to pass and look toward the future, moving with the unpredictable tides of life, adapting to a state of flow.
