About the Artist
James Coleman
Lives in Cork, Ireland,
I grew up in a small town in North Cork, in Ireland. I have been excited by the art of photography since my childhood but the passion consumed me when I was twenty and met a girl who was also keen on photography. She introduced me to the darkroom. I remember seeing an image appear as if by magic in the developing tray for the first time.
She became my wife, we raised a family and my photography had to take a back seat. Work, and rearing three sons took precedence.
Now with free time available I'm re immersing myself. As I am passionate about the environment I take immense pleasure in landscape photography and sharing the beauty that surrounds us.
I use digital, I really love how expeditious it is, from releasing the shutter to viewing the results. But I miss the anticipation of the darkroom - it was like another world.
