Costanzo Idini was born in Sassari, Sardinia in 1962. He is also the co-founder With Baingia Atonia Scanu of La Catedral Studios/The Back Loft, www.lacatedralstudios.com and has been running artists' studios since 1997. He has travelled to South America : to Argentina and Brazil for six weeks in 2003 and to Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil for five months in 2007/2008 2010/2011. On that occasion he came into contact with the harsh social realities of street children and marginalised communities and became acquainted with community workers, which triggered his interest in documenting these issues and, if possible, drawing greater media attention to them. In July 2008 he participated in a week-long course in Tuscany on documentary photography, with the internationally renowned giornalist documentary photographer Francesco Cito As a photographer, he was a still photographer on Paul Murphy's Irish short film 'Crossed Lines', has been invited to exhibit in the 50/50 Fundraising Special in Temple Bar Gallery on three occasions, and has been a co-founder and photographer of Capture Movement, a multi-media art project to document the Dublin Fringe Festival in 2005 and 2006. This project culminated in an exhibition, held in the Back Loft in 2005 and touring venues such as Filmbase, The Project Arts Centre and Cultivate in 2006. He has been commissioned to photograph the Cork Jazz Festival (2007) and the Berchidda festival for the last 3 years by www.dada.net. from 2007 to 2010.He collaborated with the online arts magazine '100% Amarillo' ( www.100x100amarillo.com) as a photographer of arts festivals.
