I was born in the state of Washington and raised in South Texas. As a child, I spent my time playing outdoors and exploring the environment which fed my relentless curiosity. Some of my fondest memories as a child are borrowing my parents’ old Brownie and Kodak Instamatic cameras, and roaming around the backyard capturing images. During these formative years, a visual and tactile language was formed by my experiences and imagination. With this language, I let my personal mythology influence the direction of my creativity. I currently reside in Houston, Texas, where I work as a commercial and fine art photographer. I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Photography and Sculpture and Minor in Art History and Criticism from The University of Texas at San Antonio. I also earned an Associate in Applied Science Degree with a major in Commercial Photography and Digital Imaging from The Art Institute of Houston. This evolution has taken me through various phases of visual stimulation, creativity, and process. I have embraced a new and exciting generation of photography that is incredibly more limitless than ever before. It is my belief that the most important quality of photography, as in all of art, is to evoke an emotional response and create dialog with the viewer.
