Richard S. Chow is a Los Angeles–based photographer celebrated for his fine art, documentary, and innovative photo-based works. Recently, he has embraced alternative photographic techniques, pushing the boundaries of the medium and redefining what a photograph can be. Working from his studio in Little Tokyo, Downtown Los Angeles, Richard has held solo exhibitions at the Museum of Art and History Lancaster, Orange Coast College, Neutra Museum Gallery, Metro 417 Gallery, and Gallery 825. His work has been featured in over 100 curated group exhibitions worldwide, with highlights including Photo London, Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, Mosaic House Favorite Villa in Naples Italy, LA Art Fairs, Photo LA. His pieces are held in public collections at the American Hotel and the Los Angeles Public Library Foundation. He has published two books and contributed to the LACMA Jazz 25th Anniversary monograph. Beyond his artistic practice, Richard is a portfolio reviewer, curator, and grant reviewer for the California Arts Council, a state agency. He is the founder and curator of the 3C Gallery Collective, and is represented by Gallery 825 in West Hollywood and Fabrik Projects Gallery in Downtown Los Angeles.
