Photo's taken in the early life of my own children. Project7 is a reaction to the millions 'say-cheese' photos taken all over the world. It tells the story of the other side of childhood; the lonely, melancholic and sometimes frightening one. Being a child is not only laugh and play. It takes hard work to develop and adapt to quick changes in your growing brain, the expanding world around you and constantly new impressions. Everything has to be explained in a rational, sometimes philosophical way, to fit a new element in an existing story. Unguarded moments show the stills in this process, no micro play. Crisis, revelation, freedom and contemplation are being experienced by these full growing human beings. You can find out more about project7 on my website:

Born in 1974, little me read every book about nature, dinosaurs, ancient Egyptians and Dr.Seuss. A bit older, wanted to be Indiana Jones. At Willem de Kooning (art) Academy (1993-1996) in Rotterdam, really learned to look and wonder. As a former geography (and museum)teacher I ask questions, like to zoom in and out at the world. Questions are very important, so is doubt. What inspires me are both science and nature, the tension between these two worlds can sometimes be surprisingly alike. Work you can find here is 2D. I'm currently studying ceramics Art Academy in Belgium. I love the diversity of clay, I'm looking forward to putting up ceramic work here on Saatchi. I live and work with my guy, kids, two fluffy rabbits and a big red cat in the gezellige province of Brabant, The Netherlands. You can find more about me on the net.
