ABOUT THE ARTWORK

"The bond that links your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and joy in each other's life". - Richard David Bach - The "Endless love" sculpture represents the deep bond, not only between a mother and a child, but also between a father and a child. The first is an instinctual and innate love, one soul that becomes two bodies. The second is the day-by-day creation of a life-long and unbreakable bond, the awareness that endless love exists. This sculpture is a one-of-a-kind, original design and hand-weaved piece. Materials used to create the sculpture are 1 mm stainless steel wire for the parent figure and 1mm brass, 1 mm copper and 1 mm silver plated wire for the baby. Dimensions are (in cm): H. 22, W. 20, D. 15. The sculpture is signed and the "PW" logo can be found on the low back of the parent figure as well as inside the baby. The sculpture comes with its own Certificate of Authenticity. Free worldwide shipping* *more details about Shipping policy on Saatchi Art website.

An afternoon long ago, I started playing with a piece of iron wire. I spent some time bending, twisting and modelling that wire and, at the end, a figure of a stylised man sit on a chair appeared. After that afternoon time past fast and I often thought about creating again using metal wire, till one day in 2017 when suddenly I felt the urgent necessity to create, sculpting metal wire. The aim to use a medium that by its nature is strong and hard is to transform and let it become ethereal, delicate and fragile. Most of the time I get inspired from things around me as well as by emotions. But sometimes I let objects speak for themselves and "guide" my inspiration. Even if at the beginning of this adventure the medium chose me, then I played and used different types of metal wires: brass, copper and silver plated, various diameters, both bare and anti-tarnish. Now, before starting a project, I choose the kind of wire, or wires, I will use based on the final result I would like to achieve. And while designing and creating a lamp, a sculpture or a jewelry, I let my inspiration flow. "The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance". - Aristotle -
