Mirror house was temporarily installed on the Isle of Tyree ( Hebrides). It was placed in a natural water lake, reflecting the Atlantic Ocean. It was installed during a summer period in 1996, when I was still a sculpture student at Edinburgh College of Art.

German born sculptor Ekkehard Altenburger grew up on a farm on the German/Swiss border. He has been based in the UK since 1995. Initially working as a Master Mason at the Gothic Cathedral of Schwabisch Gmuend in South Germany, he began his academic studies in 1991, studying sculpture at Bremen's Hochschule fuer Kuenste. He later gained a place at Edinburgh College of Art and in 1999 completed his studying with an MA from the Chelsea College of Art in London. His UK commissions can be found in the public domain where he has produced site-specific pieces for private and public clients. He also has work through out Europe and recently completed a piece in Central America. He has shown his work extensively in Europe and overseas. Since 2017, Altenburger is holding a professorial position for Sculpture at the Academy of Visual Arts in Hong Kong. Since then, he divides his time in between Hong Kong and London.
