Atrium is a digitally created image, giclee printed on premium quality oyster photo paper then diabond mounted on aluminium. The image was structured using a 3D CAD programme and rendering software and denotes a depopulated shopping mall or office atrium. I wanted to emulate the way building developers create visualisations of future architectural projects that have become ubiquitous on building sites across our cities. Instead of presenting a desirable high cost environment I chose to create a somber scene depicting the end of a buildings function in an uncertain future world.
