ABOUT THE ARTWORK

On boundaries and limitations We draw boundaries against what we don't know. We draw boundaries against emotions that get too close. We draw boundaries against what we don't understand. We draw boundaries when others behave differently. We draw boundaries against things we don't recognise. By limiting ourselves, we also limit others. By limiting others, we also limit ourselves. From within such limitations we communicate in a predictable and therefore automated way: our vocabularies are uniform I can counter your every word My language, unrecognisable, becomes incomprehensible: The unsayable - LIMITED EDITION #1 TO 6 - With a certificate of authenticity, signed by the artist and numbered. - All prints are numbered and signed by me in verso - All large format prints are printed with margins (added to the image dimensions) - Original will be printed on a stunning Hahnemühle art paper. - This work will be shipped rolled in a secure tube. - Please feel free to ask about other sizes: more formats are available. - Please contact curator@saatchiart.com for more details

Frank Verreyken (b. 1954, Belgium). I live and work in Antwerp, Belgium. I’m a painter and a photographer. I don't follow a set line, and am not turned in a certain style. I am detached from all pigeonholes. I always create my work from a desire to create. That desire can be emotionally or intellectually driven. The form itself is subject to that specific, immediate desire. Whether it's photographic work, charcoal, or paint, it doesn't matter. My integrity is always there because I don't make work to please. I am always grateful that people, from all over the world, sense, appreciate, and respect that. I participated in several group and solo exhibitions all over the world : London, Washington, Santa Monica, Budapest, Los Angeles, Milan, Berlin, Brussels, Dresden (see : exhibitions) Collectors bought my work from the USA, Canada, South Africa, Germany, Austria, Holland, Belgium, and France
