ABOUT THE ARTWORK

A human being is an assemblage of atoms that gather and disperse over a period of time. It is neither eternal nor perfect. There is no hierarchy in the atomic world. The scientific investigation verifies this. My work begins with the truth that all humans are fallible. What humans see and feel, and express is not everything and is not complete. I hope that the work is the honest truth beyond superficial expression or emotion. The visible phenomena we can see are the result of the interaction of particles in the material world. These are events that occurred through relationship building. The smallest and first beings that make up the material world are systematized by interaction. Interaction is a relationship building activity, and visualized events are the outcome of organized beings. The smallest individual beings interact with each other and make the phenomena in the material world. Then organized beings lead to new interactions with other beings in another phenomenon. Interaction continues without ceasing. The successive process of relationship is visualized in various forms. A work is created in a way that individual pieces are combined or arranged on a support. In that process, planar pieces are combined three-dimensionally, creating space between each other. The main material of this work ‘Interaction’ is stainless steel that is combined with a wood panel. I’d like to show the elaborate characteristics of metal by using stainless steel wires painted in unique colors. And wood panel also has thin delicate textures similar to the wires. I hope people can hear what I talk through the work and feel the intrinsic beauty and warm sensibility of metals.

website: www.artyho.com Instagram: park_yongho_art I’m a metal artist and painter, applying metal works to painting. Though I’m a Korea based artist, I’m very active internationally. For many years I’ve been working in Japan, France, and the U.S.A. with lots of galleries. I seek the harmony of two different categories, metal work and painting. And I try to make them in good balance and moderation. So my artwork is differentiated from normal painting in many ways. Every work includes metals (aluminum, steel, stainless steel, etc.), which are combined with various other materials (wood, plaster, etc.) It has distinctive matière and three-dimensional effects. And it’s possible to adjust the size or color of artworks, according to collectors’ requests. I think artwork can be a good communication method even if it’s not a language. So I always try to express various thoughts and emotions in my work. Because I think communication is always the most important requirement for artwork. There are many beautiful things, not visible but do exist in this world. When I feel and recognize them, they fascinate me and stir up my sensitivity. I would like to share with everyone the beauty that I feel and express through artworks.
