My research is grounded in a speculative and sensitive practice that works in a state of listening with the
elements and cooperates with natural processes in order to imagine and embody other forms of existence, observing their metamorphoses as a form of knowledge and as an active presence in the world.
In my practice, matter is never a simple support but a living, transformative and conductive subject. It is in
its behaviour that the core of the work manifests itself, often entering into contact and co-presence with
the viewers.
The works arise from materials often collected and archived from experienced places. The results are
hybrid forms, where the organic and the inorganic, the natural and the symbolic intertwine in open
configurations in continuous redefinition.
In the last two years the Sense of the Sublime, reconsidered through a contemporary lens, has become a central conceptual framework within my research, understood as a perceptual and ethical instrument
extending the experience of natural immensity into a moment of awareness in which the human being
finds themselves as part of a broader living system.
This reflection offers us the opportunity to renegotiate
our position within the living and to move beyond the anthropocentric perspective.
This research draws nourishment from experiences developed in dialogue with different geographical and
cultural contexts (Italy, Brazil, Mexico, Indonesia), through which I have observed how, in many
Indigenous cultures, natural principles are an integral part of cosmogonic visions and models of coexistence, offering radically different perspectives on the ontology of the living. This has fuelled a reflection on matter as an archive of cultural and social value, and on the necessity of reconfiguring our perceptual and political paradigms.
