A broad, colorful artwork on 8-mm-fibreboard (MDF). The panel is backed by a slim wooden frame. The painting mirrors a day in the neighboring village at midsummer, when the high noon’s powerful, popping colors and the unreal sky force the wanderer to screw up her eyes. Artistically working my way through the setting, layer by layer, I finally chose to temper the world by a glaze of white paint and turpentine — my veil of summer. The artwork is so rich in detail, the beholder will feel as if being a hiker through this multiform universe him/herself. A positive choice for bright interiors, or as a contrast to deep color walls. The work comes from a period of my doing, when I was experimenting with the supports — materials for the panels, strength of the frames. Therefore, for this very panel, it turned out, that in longitudinal direction the work is very slightly bent. This is to be seen when you scrutinize the work from the side, for instance when looking along the long upper edge like joiners do checking the straightness of a wooden lath. The deviation has been considered in the pricing already. Note that the additional photos of the work are about the overall appearance of the work. they admit some camera-lens abberation and don't show the effect described above. As the author of both support and artwork I consider them belonging together the special way they are. The overall and holistic appearance in the beholders eye is that of a beautiful flat artwork as seen in the images, a great eye-catcher. Because of the solid materiality a good strong wall is needed for hanging. A pair of inlet hangers of metal is applied.

Christian Kabuß is an internationally established German artist and musician. He studied Medicine at the University of Rostock, then went on to Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee, Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia and Moholy-Nagy University of Arts and Design Budapest to practice Fine Art. The artistic language within his paintings is deeply linked to a phenomenological approach to bodiliness, the freedom of subconscious artistic creation, and the theoretical and practical considerations of Design. Kabuß has exhibited in Germany and abroad. His works are present in regional, national and international collections. It is his aim to work as honest as possible, and he tends towards imagery, which is embedded in Lebenswelt, and sound. As a pianist, he performs small intimate concerts. His music is soft, sometimes freely improvised and portrays a sense of a parallel-world. Exhibitions in Italy, Sweden, Germany, China, and Japan.
