I am a life long New York photographer who shoots the great images that the city has to offer and find the New York area the most interesting and diverse location to photograph and create photo art imagery. I have been fascinated by photography my whole life and enjoy all aspects of the photographic process. I love to create artistic visual imagery and not being endowed with any serious level of drawing or painting skills, photography allows me to do just that; Create Photo Art! I work within the digital medium having shifted from film-based photography ten years ago. In this world of instant gratification, using digital enables me to immediately see what I’ve captured through the lens and in turn, be inspired to expand my imagination on lighting, camera angle and subject matter. Digital also allows me to easily share my work with others which is a brilliant way to showcase my work and network within the artistic communities. My subjects are boundless in nature in that I like to shoot anything I find of interest whether it be captured in color or in black and white. My intent is to create visual imagery that evokes to the viewer some level of emotion when they look at my work. As far as process, I view the capturing of the photographic image as the foundational step similar to a painter sketching on the canvas the image to be painted. The second part of the process is to utilize some digital tools to enhance or accent certain aspects of the photographic image to get the desired look and feel. Lastly, its presentation, and that includes the physical photographic print complimented by selected matting and framing. I enjoy showing my work at galleries throughout New York City and discussing techniques and approaches with other fellow artists and gallery attendees. As a photographer, there is no greater joy then when one of your photos is purchased by a gallery attendee and you know that it will be gracing a wall in their home.
