ABOUT THE ARTWORK

I was riding my bike down the road in the western United States. As time passed, darkness fell, and to rest, I put a sleeping bag in a small vacant lot by the road and lit a bonfire. I was staring at the bonfire burning red with a crackling sound. The sound of horseshoe was heard in the distance. I looked up and saw a man on a horse with white fur and tabby pattern. The horse approached me slowly and soon I knew that he was an American Indian. He tied a horse to my bike and approached me and greeted me lightly, and I also greeted him. The American Indian sat across from me and looked at the bonfire with me. And how much time has passed? The American Indian told me about themselves and their horse. To himself, a horse was not just a means of transportation to move across a vast plain, but a friend, a companion, and freedom. Of course, he has family and friends, but if he is running on the vast plains of the west, he become infinitely small and humble in front of nature. It was a story that by the time I felt that many emotions and a slight feeling of fear, I realized that I am not alone, that the horse running with myself, that my friend and coworker are with me, and my fear changes into true freedom. I listened to the story of Indie silently and fell into deep thoughts. American Indian also looked at the bonfire again to see. As time passed, I woke up in the cold air of dawn and looked across the campfire, where the embers were calm, and the American Indian had already left. I got up from my seat, organized my clothes, put my sleeping bag on the back of the bike, and watched the burning embers with the bike's engine turned on for warm-up. After a while, as I extinguished the embers, sat on a bike, struck the cold air of dawn, and ran through the vast plains of the west, an inexpressible enlightenment came. I am running on the road in the vast plains, not alone, but with my friend and colleague, my bike, as a real freedom.
