The first caipiras were the bandeirantes , who received this name from the Guaianá people who inhabited the Middle Tietê region, in the interior of São Paulo. With the bandeirismo and tropeirismo cycle, the term reached populations of the former Captaincy of São Vicente (later Captaincy of São Paulo), which today are the states of Santa Catarina, Paraná, Goiás, São Paulo, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso, Tocantins, Rondônia and Rio Grande do Sul, and also parts of southern Rio de Janeiro, such as Paraty, which had been part of São Paulo until 1727, and parts of Uruguay that were disputed with Spain.

The commonplace is usually left aside, it is not given due attention. Sounds are ignored, smells are sometimes unpleasant and uncomfortable, and are therefore also ignored. The songs are heard without understanding the poetry or feeling the beat. Thoughts speed up and the days, the minutes, the steps vanish into thin air. The meaning of the routes is lost. The sounds can be deafening, the senses are always heightened, conversations and human contact are latent. The space is covered step by step, often avoiding obstacles, people on the way. Walking blindly is denying what is latent, not realizing that the space is occupied and lives beyond. These are the steps, paths and lives of hundreds of people, including the one who writes these lines. To claim this space, I propose to tell the story of the place that has meaning for them and occupy these spaces, recording them in the time of a photograph.
