About Podi Lawrence
Finalist in ARTIST OF THE YEAR 2015 competition run by the Society of All Artists of which Podi is a professional member. Finalist at the ARTIST OF THE YEAR - 2013 competition run by the Artists' and Illustrators' magazine. A full time artist/illustrator/teacher since the early 1980's. Winner of a Bronze Medal 1994 Salon de Paris. Work selected by Prince Charles for the 1997 Discerning Eye Exhibition, London.. and others. Residency with the English National Ballet, Swan Theatre, High Wycombe, several ballet companies and orchestras, in the UK, K-W Symphony Orchestra, Perimeter Institute and others in Canada. Inspired by light and colour, reflections, sunlight and shadows; portraiture, body movement, dancers, musicians, body stances and figurative expressions. Resident artist for the Waterloo Jazz Festival, Canada, from 2001 - 20012 Recent series of paintings are of the colors and patterns of shadows. Mediums used vary from oils, acrylics, inks, watercolours and pastels and drawing mediums. A respected and inspiring tutor in fine art drawing and painting skills. Attended workshops of artists listed in the Federation of British Artist at the Mall galleries. The rest was learnt on my feet or should I say on my hands and feet.

Won first in the Landscape and seascape section. Exhibiting painting of Portland Bill with the Artist of the Year 2015 competition at the Business Design Centre, London UK 25th - 29th July.
Working on some new venues for 2017 and also making more art.
