About Aleksandra Klepacka

“I put my heart and my soul into my work, and have lost my mind in the process." - Vincent Van Gogh
I am a traditional realist painter with boundless admiration of the world around us and trying to project its beauty onto my canvas.

I was born and raised in Lublin, Poland, and after traveling for a while I currently live in my hometown.

I have been painting since I can remember. It was a talent that has been present in my family for generations. However, I never thought I could turn my passion into a career. As my degree, I chose English Philology and in 2015 I received my Master's degree. In the meantime the unceasing thought that I should pursue a career in art made me try out digital painting. That's how I first discover that I can make a living by creating art. Since then I treated my professional education mostly as a vehicle for my dream occupation. I knew that mastering English will present me many opportunities that otherwise would remain unreachable.

Presently I'm working as a freelance digital illustrator, mostly for fantasy books and games industry. Since last year I have gone back to oil painting as well and I do my utmost to find enough time to paint and develop my traditional skills and create a body of work fully demonstrating my style and abilities.

My collection of paintings revolves mostly around nature. I find this subject matter soothing and enjoyable. I paint still lives, landscapes, and seascapes. In addition, I plan to focus more on the art of portraiture which has a strong presence in my pencil works but not yet in my oil painting.

I work mostly from photographs, which are for me the most comfortable source of reference. Working from life entails many obstacles like changing light conditions, time constrains (I work quite erratically and it's easy for the elements of my compositions to fade). Luckily I am an avid photographer as well and the photos that I take facilitate my painting process.

In some cases the sole purpose of my paintings is to allow my audience to experience pure beauty, which gradually becomes a rare comodity in contemporary world. I want people to stop and marvel for a while, to forget about everything around them. However some of my paintings are inspired by my life experiences, both good and bad, they have songs and poems woven into them, they carry multiple meanings and hiden symbols. They still may seem to be simple still lives and I give people choice whether they want to see what is beneath the surface or just enjoy the visual aspect of a given composition..
