Birdsong Trio Collage

These were completed as a gift to Lotusland in Montecito. Belle Hahn introduced me to Madame Ganna Walska and her creative wonders. Both beauties provided much inspiration; their spiritual joie de vivre, generosity, vision, and pure magic generated the perfect swirl of creativity. I began with a vision of the yellow bird on fuchsia —Madame Walska singing her bird song surrounded by the men who touched her life, the male Robin in reply, and the fruit of their music being— the Lotus blossom. I collaged imagery found in Madame's memoir "Always Room at the Top", layering the many chapters of her life into the backgrounds of the paintings. Such a joy to be ignited by these magnificent, powerful women!
