ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The fragility and resilience of nature is a constant inspiration to me. For my series of bird paintings, I chose the medium of hand painted paper collage to portray them. Painting and printing my collage papers gives me a limitless palette to work with and allows me to use as much pattern, colour and texture in my paintings as I want. Once the collage was finished, I applied a protective UVLS varnish. The sides of the cradled wood panel are painted black so no frame is required. A hangar is attached and the painting is signed on the reverse.
