"The best Art is business" says Andy Warhol. I, Maureen Hansen, love business and Art. On Saatchi, I'm presenting the work of Margit Ilika. Margit's work is in hundreds of Collections all around the world. She has been featured in over 29 One Woman Shows. Margit has earned a BFA from The University of Texas at Austin and an MFA from the Universidad de las Américas, A.C. Below is Margit's AutoBio: "My activity as an artist is recycling images, finding images, creating new connotations for pictures, tapping into the collective subconscious. In using pictures that I find, printed pictures, often discarded (called “found” art) I am saying that I trust the universe to help me make what I call “Quantum Collage”. In quantum collage there is a time warp factor because really I think we remember images that way, by “that way” I mean juxtaposed, not spotlighted alone, but several images in the same frame. I also believe that mind images are often moving and not stagnant, and certainly dream quality. Collage is putting one thing (it can be images) next to another. It is so helpful that the Physicist Mr. Stephen Hawking wrote about a parallel universe and that particles can influence each other from a distance. If I were teaching collage I would say that particles influencing each other from a distance is a lot like easel painting, the viewers relationship with the painting is influenced by her previous relationship with the images seen. I am an easel painter. I use collage because it allows me to position together images, ideas, colors so as to multitask ideas, I consider images to be ideas, collage is a recycle of images as well as paper.' "I am a full time painter. I have taught painting, printmaking, color and design, art history, and elementary."
