ABOUT THE ARTWORK

"Parisian Spring" is the second work in this sub-series that embraces global regions, times of year, and cultural nuances. This paint and collage piece captures the essence of Spring - Joyful Exuberance - expressed with colors and shapes that playfully interact with each other. With a nod to French Master Henri Matisse, I created "Parisian Spring," It is part of "The Cutting Edge" collection - a set of Mixed-Media works, first sliced with an Exacto knife and then painted with the finest Winsor Newton Gouache Paint on Arches Hot Press Watercolor Paper. The work is further constructed with customized colored shapes cut and affixed. The assemblage is mounted on a black mat-board, that is also an integral part of the piece - some shapes spill over on to the black mat, and other shapes have been cut out of the paper to reveal the black mat. The peeled back cut paper creates its own shadows - adding an extra dimension to the work. An additional white mat surrounds the black mat. This Mixed-Media work is Ready To Hang - Framed Dimensions: 20" x 20". Please Note: The term "Copy of..." refers to this piece being listed in more than one category. There is only ONE original work, and is listed as it's title. Each piece of artwork that I have created comes signed and dated, and includes a Certificate of Authenticity. For more information about a piece, please contact The Gallery At Miracle Manor: .
