I’m interested in the crooked lines that house the human experience and being. I explore the universal quest of what mortality means and the disappearance of individuals over time and space. This body of work is derived from historic photographic portraits, mostly from the 1800’s, and often explores the disappearance of people over time and gender and equality issues. The piece is framed in a unique antique frame with it's own story and enhances the tale of the image it cradles. The collage has been printed on metallic paper enhancing the color saturation and vibrancy.

Artist Statement- My artwork takes you to imaginary worlds that are yet to be fully explored. Through my two and three-dimensional works, I explore the struggles and beauty of being human while providing glimpses into our cultural landscape, myths, and the human psyche. I draw inspiration from my love for antique items, furniture, clothing, architecture, and vintage photographs. My sensitivity to nature, color, and light also influences my work. I use a combination of painting, collage, sculpture, and photography to connect the past, present, and future. My pieces incorporate a range of mediums, including oil and acrylic paints, ink drawings, hand-marbled papers, cast-off domestic objects, fabric, vintage portraits, and contemporary digital photographs.
