About The Artwork

this sculpture made of an assembly of a hundred small jewels and adorned with a snake which encircles the anatomical parts of a faceless realistic woman and a staging of feminine nature, a nod to the "Myth of the woman and the snake" which is a study taken from a book on the origins of a primordial psychological evolution

I received a training in applied art at the University of Paris 8. I have worked for years with collage and painting exclusively of portraits. Using acrylic paint and wax fabric as a medium. However, I have radically changed my life. I came back to my roots by settling in Brittany, the country of my mother and her father. Land of nature with raw but bewitching beauty. My current work is inspired by and pays homage to this magnificent lady. Brittany, (Morbihan). I realize My sculptures by being inspired by its authentic nature. At a time when the voice of women is free and as a woman. I wanted to exploit the femininity of Brittany. Its nature and its microcosm appeared to me like a jewel. I thus integrated jewelry in the shape of an insect in my sculptures. I am using Granite. It is the emblematic symbol of Brittany. I collect stones from the sandstones from my walks and on my property (typical Breton house under renovation). Wood, in reference to the many Breton forests, Cradle of legends (mainly oak). I also incorporate the characteristic patterns of old pottery. Linked to my childhood memories. The memory of the enormous Breton dresser in solid wood that sat in my grandfather's little kitchen. In which was delicately stored the family treasures. "The old crockery bequeathed from generation to generation". These same patterns that I apply on my small figurines. My sculptures are stagings. Memories present that I deliver to spectators and buyers.
