ABOUT THE ARTWORK
In my latest work I have focused on adding more to the background layers, building up interest with images of Hollywood stars from the 50's and 60's, old musical score sheets, vintage french land registry certificates as well as the usual graffiti references taken from my local city Bristol and Brick Lane in London. I am an avid collector of all sorts of wild and wonderful ephemera that tells a story and has a history. Whilst the flowers are the main focus in this particular piece I wanted the background to still be filled with lots of depth and interest. Stripes seem to be a recurring theme at the moment too as I think I like the order they bring amongst the chaos of everything else happening on the canvas. The title of this piece was taken directly from the title of an old musical score ...I just love the attitude it evokes!

I love the ebb and flow of life, the changing seasons and that nothing is ever really static or stable. Flowers are equally fleeting in their beauty, as is the impermanence of heavily graffitied walls, pasted with layer upon layer of torn posters and peeling club flyers. They tell such an interesting and diverse story. I am also a huge fan of colour as well as mixed media, and through a process of layering and painting, cutting and pasting, my aim is to blend all these disparate elements together into something unique, vibrant and ultimately ‘everlasting’.
