Exploring nostalgia, repetition, and the significance of place, this work delves into the concept of personal space and the way we inhabit our individual, compartmentalized worlds—private cubes stacked beside one another, forming a silent yet interconnected landscape. At the heart of this exploration is a collection of old photographic images and film stills, each carrying remnants of past lives, fleeting moments, and untold stories. These fragments of visual history are carefully curated to establish an existing dialogue—one shaped by memory, time, and the echoes of the past. From this foundation, the images undergo a process of deconstruction and reinvention. Layers are meticulously sliced, reassembled, and reinterpreted, altering the primary narrative once embedded within them. This transformation disrupts the original context, offering new perspectives and inviting viewers to reconsider the meaning of these preserved instances. Vibrant shards of color punctuate the compositions, serving as both an anchor and a disruption. These bursts of hue engage in a dynamic interplay with the underlying images, emphasizing the tension between shape, line, and space. By pushing the boundaries of their fleeting existence, the work examines the ephemeral nature of captured time—how moments are framed, remembered, and ultimately reshaped. Through this process of repetition and manipulation, the work not only reimagines past narratives but also questions the ways in which we construct, preserve, and interact with our own personal histories. It invites the viewer to step into these altered realities, to find resonance in their fragments, and to contemplate their own place within the ever-shifting landscape of memory and meaning.
