ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I've always loved the song Ebony and Ivory written by Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder. I think it's as meaningful today as the day it was released in 1982. It's a song of self-empowerment and the struggle for racial equality. I tried to capture the essence of that song in this piece using the sheet music from the song with pieces of black and white paper. We are all cut from the same cloth and we all bleed red. This piece was twice a juried award winner. It won an award at the Art League of Daytona Beach as well as winning third place at Art Fiesta of New Smyrna Beach, Florida.
