About The Artwork
This work is the result of a memory and a personal experience related to someone from my family. This person, after unexpectedly becoming a millionaire, started to use the posture which reflected itself on the announced phrase “everything has a price”. This matter translated itself into something strange, leading to some considerations on my behalf regarding human nature. A female figure is presented, languishing, reclining over a fur/skin stole. Her face is also covered in different types of skin, some human (male), hinting to a partial metamorphosis in her own identity. Her seductive gaze, her cared looks, props, create a figure which surprises and arrests. Yet we are left without knowing how to identify it; it can either seduce or confide us. What is the price of losing one’s own skin?
