Images of faces cut from litho plates from vintage books meticulously cut into dots, bonded onto birch wood, and laser cut into dots. Heros, adventurers, and explorers all turned to dust. Anonymous faces from the past make a haunting conversational artwork. 3d mixed media collage in paper and wood. 65 x 29 cm Some of these little images are from vintage books of 100 years old. I am particularly drawn the imagery that was created using old litho print methods. I have carefully extracted the old plates, bonded them onto birch plywood boards giving them a textured hand-painted surface texture. The sheets are then laser cut into these 3cm dots. The artwork comes framed ready to hang in white as shown. Framed Approx 65x30cm wide x 4cm deep

Abstract artist, Amelia Coward is renowned for her explorations into mixing, blending and grading colours, with a growing international profile. Born in 1975, she holds a 1st class Honours from Central St Martins and MA from the Royal College of Art. Her artworks can be found in both private and corporate collections worldwide. Amelia creates artworks that focus on the interaction of colours combined with the carefully composed spacial balance between geometric elements such as circles and stripes. Influenced by her woven textile training she uses laser cutters much the same way as she was trained to use a loom, cutting geometric shapes then reassembling them in patchwork compositions. Located in a traditional Oast Barn in the Kent countryside, Amelia combines her prolific making of new pieces with her commercial giftware business, Bombus. Each influences the other. Amelia has a team of creative makers in her studio to help to assemble, photograph, frame and pack all the works.
