My vibrant BiblioQuilt series was created using old, discarded books that were salvaged from basements, barns and attics. They’re not made of cloth. I repurpose every part of those books —the covers, the pages, the spines—breathing new life into my materials with the addition of dyes, inks, and acrylics. The artwork is ideal for personal/public libraries, schools, and corprate settings.

Flyleaf Gallery combines two of my lifelong passions: visual art and literature. It also allows me to support public libraries and public schools around the country. When I wasn’t running around outside as a kid growing up in Boston, I could be found reading in our local library. This led to me collecting old, neglected books that I consider beautiful or interesting (although not necessarily valuable)–a hobby that continues to this day. After earning a B.A. in Art from Northwestern University and an M.A. in Biomedical Communications from the University of Texas, I spent 15 years producing award-winning biomedical illustrations, with an emphasis on traditional media like pen-and-ink, carbon dust, and watercolor. Eventually, I switched to strategic planning, marketing, and business development for the healthcare sector. At this stage of my career, I am thrilled to be getting back to my roots as a maker of fine art.
