A recent trip around Japan inspired me to create this mixed/media collage painting. I also incorporated some pieces from a collection I had along the way. Almost everything you see in Japan is beautifully designed, even tickets to museums, magazines, just about anything. Nothing reminds us more of Japan than the iconic geisha image dressed in a colourful kimono and I used such a figure in this piece. The colors are compliments of yellow, green and red/orange. The collage medium is one of my favourite ways of expressing an idea or an emotion and a visit to Japan gave me lots of material.
