About The Artwork

This collage represents the struggle to save our environment and our planet. On one side the abuse that she gets through raping her resources and the dumping of industrial materials in the sea & on land. On the other side the turn to new forms cleaner energy and ways to conserve and protect mother earth from further damage. The narrow margin is the path that both sides should tread to come together and make a better world. The collage is mainly painted in oils with natural powdered amber on a canvas board. The winding path and the Profile face on the horizon are painted in oils that is mixed with natural powdered amber, which in both cases gives the collage a rough structure with a soft texture to. The profile represents love, respect and peace and the need for each other.

I was born in Hagen Germany of Scottish mother and German Father. In 1971 moved to Bradford, West Yorkshire England with mother and brother and subsequently studied Art,worked and lived in England until 1990 when I moved back to Germany.Throughout this time I was working as a freelance Artist aswell as commercial work. ...."A Work of Art is never finished-only abandoned"....! I as an Artist I take lots of pleasure in my work "ž I see what I paint and paint what I see" Which is why I have a great enjoyment to experiment with the many choices of colours, styles and mediums coinciding with the usage of the materials (canvas, structured paper etc.) which I use in my creations to satisfy my curiosity of the many interests that influences me in my work. ......"žAn Artist needs Inspiration just like a poet needs a pen......." The observation and details of the motif is very important to me so that the interpretation in the work is clear to see. With my great interest in nature and of the environment, many different moods are created and these are shown in the forming of the subject matter. Many of the works are to show lots of detail with the use of a fine paint brush, but also small trowels, and even finger method, to generate an intended form or structure. The most favoured paint medium I use is Oil , because of the sharp, clear colours, the long lasting quality and the possibilities to form and shape the painting to bring out the smallest detail, whether in a landscape, portrait or abstracts. I also like using other Mediums such as Acryl, Watercolours, Oil Pastel, Soft Pastel and Gouache. The famous modern pop art artist, David Hockney, is to count as an inspiration with what he has achieved and the works he has created and I was very lucky to have the opportunity to attend a lecture given by him and was very much impressed. www.kunstmalerei-patchett.com www.Pictify.com/User/LindaPatchett www.facebook.com/linda.patchett.1 www.facebook.com/pages/Artist-Linda-Ann-Patchett/404896466259741
