ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Mauro was born in Caserta in 1972 and lives and works in Bologna. He started working as an artist in his youth having studied at the Studio of Masters Giovanni Tariello, Paolo Ventriglia and the group Potlatch which is a Theatre and Music company. Mauro knows the great Director and humble head of “Theatre Off”, Gennaro Vitiello, who was the first to believe in Mauro’s creative and artistic potential. Mauro graduated from the State institute of Art of Saint Leucio, where of particular importance to his development were the teachings in art and design of Master Bruno Donzelli. At this institute he also met Master Rino Telaro. Following this Mauro attended an undergraduate course in “the conservation of cultural assets” near the 2nd University of studies of Naples. In 2009 he met art gallery owner Antonio Rossi (Galleria Studio Legale) who followed his artistic activity and encouraged him to break into new ground with his research. One year later Mauro began working with CAM (Casoria Contemporary art museum) a partnership that continues to this day and with whom Mauro has work on permanent display in their collection. (The Director of CAM Antonio Manfredi [Politik-art inside and outside the system 2010, CAM ART WAR, 2012]) In 2012 Mauro’s gallery of most note was “La Passepartout (the master key) Unconventional Gallery of Milan” with whom he had already been collaborating since 2011. In May of that year Mauro joined the BRUT movement (Return to the Origins) where among other contributors were Rino Telaro and Michael Beauvent, both co-authors of the BRUT manifesto that announced the birth of the movement.
