A vocation for the cinema takes me first to audio-visual studies where I rediscover my first love, photography. Urban landscapes, architecture are the key words of my work. Pure lines, sober aesthetics, I play with the graphic side of images sometimes up to abstraction. With my project "Video Home System", I push abstraction in its entrenchments and invite you to travel in a very playful way in my personal vision of life, questioning the role of the spectator in contemporary art. The heart of the project is the image created by the spectator himself, which is reflected in the highly reflective material used in the works: the magnetic tape of video cassettes (VHS - Beta - MiniDV ...) which once woven looks like a black mirror. I always loved the light that springs from the black paintings of Pierre Soulages. So fascinating, hypnotic, like a dream we never wake up. My work is inspired by this light born in the darkness. Do you remember Narcisse's legend? Narcisse who draw himself in a river because he felt in love with his own reflection. His light was too beautiful to be abandoned. Like in a mirror, a black mirror, you can see you in my artwork. Not the real you, but a subtile deformed version of yourself. You will see you like you never saw you before and you will play with your reflection like Narcisse did. You will not die like him, of course but maybe you will ask yourself about what you actually look like and what you share about yourself with people.
