White paper is painted black on the front and orange on the back. Then the paper is teared obliquely in a special way along a straight line. Two strips of paper then arise, the tear lines of each strip of paper being each other's mirror image when one strip is turned on. The two strips are glued together on a sheet of paper.Between the two lines the color is orange of the back. This is repeated. The tear lines can be deviated from the straight line to return back to the straight line. The appearance of the tear lines is determined by the quality of the paper, the thickness of the paper, the paint colors and types, the technique of tearing and the way they are glued this work the lines are teared so that there are diagonals of a square. The work is signed at the back. Themes of Nico Kok such as the use of materials, how is the work made, image/mirror image, left/right,front/back, vertical lines and square with diagonals are reflected in this work.
