Fanny Horowitz is a visual artist based in Tel Aviv’s vibrant Kiryat HaMelacha art district. Her work explores the delicate tension between figurative structures and abstract sensations, seeking a point of equilibrium within an ever-shifting reality. Horowitz works in series, choosing distinct materials and techniques to serve the conceptual essence of each project. This stylistic versatility is a deliberate choice: she employs the tactile nature of paper collage to deconstruct domestic landscapes - offering these works exclusively as high-quality fine art prints - while utilizing the richness and depth of oil on canvas to evoke the meditative stillness of nature. In her recent oil paintings, she investigates the Japanese concept of "Shinrin-yoku" (forest bathing), creating a "place" of slowness and silence that navigates between the representation of nature and the abstract landscapes of the soul. Her earlier series, such as "You Are Not From Here," utilize layers of mixed media and transparencies to express the intangibility of biographical memory and cultural identity. For Horowitz, painting is an existential tool - a conscious space that allows first the artist, during the act of creation, and subsequently the viewer, to pause and enter a new state of consciousness.
