About The Artwork

This work is special for me. The scene is inspired by an artistic person which makes a lovely composition with his dog Kao and some politicians during the pandemic. This one specifically is one famous General in Bulgaria at the moment. The General do the daily briefing on the TV there and is getting popular in a good or bad way regarding his restrictions in the country. In Bulgarian one of the restrictions were if you don't have a dog you are not allowed to go outside for a walk. So the owner of Dog Kao decides to make daily compositions and play with different objects regarding the place in which he stays. We e-meet online and unfortunately when I start drawing his dog which is a very rare dog been missing a few days after that. I used royal blue as an accent and different paper from financial times newspaper or even hand made paper made for the Royal Academy of art which I visit often. My mixed media collage is also mixed with acrylic paint. The surface is a canvas. I usually use my favourite technique which is cutting and simplifying shapes and drawing on top, layer after layer. I'm prints are available as well.

A multi-talented and expressive artist, Silviya Georgieva – Sellvida, brings her rich cultural and practical experience to the London art scene. Based in SW London artist. Silviya was trained and educated in Sofia, Bulgaria where she mastered textile and graphic design at the country’s most prominent art and design universities. An artist himself, Silviya’s father nurtured her artistic side from an early age and raised her in a highly creative and inquisitive environment. Silviya’s passion lays in making collages – piecing together memories and extracts of her experiences on a canvas of colours, textures and shapes. Silviya collects mental and visual excerpts that she then puts together in a puzzle that reflects her perception of the world. Silviya views our beloved city through her positive and curious eyes – the power stations of Battersea, sunset in Fulham, a stranger’s demeanor. Silviya is equally intrigued by the man-made and the natural – from seascapes to still life settings and Parisian rooftops, her pieces are guaranteed to leave a lasting impression with the viewer. The art was always part of me and my life. The expression of emotional filing is always help me to deal with everything in my life journey. Themes of identity, memory, and the human condition often surface in my work. I am drawn to the process of layering and excavation, mirroring the way we build our identities and sift through our past experiences. Each piece is a voyage of self-discovery, a reflection on the individual and collective narratives that shape our lives. As an artist, I aim to foster a dialogue between the viewer and the artwork, inviting them to delve into their own interpretations and emotional responses. My pieces are open-ended stories, offering a glimpse into the ambiguity and complexity of existence. Ultimately, my mixed media creations are a testament to the ever-evolving nature of art itself, where innovation and tradition coexist, and the boundaries of creativity are continuously challenged. Through this journey, I invite you to explore the multifaceted, textured world that lies within and around us, and to discover your own narrative within the layers of my art.
