About The Artwork

The more I work on this series, Color Moves, the more questions arise; “What is healing energy?” “Am I able to send it to people and to heal myself through visualization?” for instance. I am not so self-righteous to absolutely believe that the energy I attempt to conjure while I am meditating will help anyone. What I do know and believe is that from controlling my breathing, suspending it and visualizing it rising through my body from my toes to my crown, I am better for it afterward. Better meaning, emptier, less stressed, calm and sometimes even giddy. The painting reliefs in Color Moves consist of layers and layers of torn strips of paper and represent each point of reference in the body that the color represents. The ball on the top of the canvas, Violet Moves symbolizes healing energy, wound up and ready to explode off the surface bouncing off everyone who needs a boost. The spiral is a catalyst icon, a vehicle to transfer the energy through the body to the crown where it can be discharged into the ether.
