About The Artwork
My "Ex machina" project comprises a body of images that have been created from a group of poems that investigate the process by which artificial intelligence might at some point become sentient. "I take care" is part of my production that represents a visual and conceptual echo to a corpus of poems that have inspired me. "Io mi prendo cura" is a fantastic and dreamlike work, the result of an experimental path that I follow as a photographer and video artist using a new process that starts from the classic composition that I have always mastered, to explore new rules of visual and conceptual organization. I started a further phase of experimentation by applying artificial intelligence algorithms to the production of some of the photographs, according to a dialectical relationship with the poetic texts and the speculative hypotheses that inspired the corpus of works. "I take care" represents the first transformation process of an artificial intelligence that is committed to taking care of humanity.

Patrizia Genovesi, born in 1962, is an Italian photographer, video artist, film director, screenwriter and cultural popularizer. She draws her inspiration from diverse arts as well as from technology. Her production can hardly be classified within any given artistic trend in photography, cinema and video art. It covers a variety of styles and subjects, ranging from black-and-white to over-saturated color and includes portraits, landscapes, architecture, street photography, light painting, backstage, theatre and orchestra shows, and others. Her projects often combine photographs, videos and music. In cinema, she has worked on several shorts as director, screenwriter and director of photography.
