In the heart of Cape Spear, Newfoundland, the White Lighthouse stands as a symbol of maritime history and natural beauty. Against a backdrop of a boundless blue sky, this iconic structure exudes tranquility in the warm embrace of autumn. The coastal rocks beneath it echo the timeless rhythm of the sea, offering a sense of open spaces, freedom, lightness, and happiness. Inspired by the enduring charm of Cape Spear and the stoic grace of the White Lighthouse, the artist sought to capture the essence of this maritime landmark. This lighthouse, steeped in history, represents not only a navigational beacon but also a testament to human determination in the face of the unforgiving ocean. Viewers of this artwork are invited to contemplate the harmonious relationship between civilization and the natural world. The lighthouse, a product of human ingenuity, harmonizes effortlessly with the coastal landscape. The expansive, open skies inspire introspection and reflection on the boundless possibilities of life's journey. The style employed by the artist reflects elements of realism, with meticulous attention to detail and color. Brushstrokes are gentle and fluid, mirroring the tranquil ambiance of the scene. As viewers contemplate the White Lighthouse at Cape Spear, it is hoped that they will feel a sense of reverence for the coastal beauty of Newfoundland, an appreciation for the resilience of those who have maintained this sentinel, and a profound connection to the freedom and happiness that open spaces and the natural world offer. To encapsulate the essence of this scene, a few lines from the poet John Keats gracefully capture the spirit of the moment: "A thing of beauty is a joy forever: Its loveliness increases; it will never Pass into nothingness; but still will keep A bower quiet for us, and a sleep Full of sweet dreams, and health, and quiet breathing."

Valentyna Rybkina was born in 1977. After graduating from National University with a Master's in Politology and Sociology, she started to oil paint in 2013 as a self-taught artist influenced by great artists like Aivazovsky. She invites you to remember with her paintings the sunny and happy places you may have visited or plan to visit again, to see how beautiful nature is. She hopes you can look at the colors of her painting, enjoy them, relax, and forget about your problems. Life is good ;) She is especially interested in oil landscapes (ocean and seascape) and has always been passionate about flowers - these are the main thematic focus of all her works.
