Irina Uva has been drawing since early childhood, but emerged as a professional illustrator in 2019. Irina is a fashion illustrator and artist inspired by the modern aesthetics of urbanism and minimalist portraits. The artist works both in digital and traditional graphic media, demonstrating in her works her personal philosophy of "art of living" ("arte di vivere"). The subjects of her works range from high fashion, social events and lifestyle aesthetics, bright street style characters to sports illustrations. Irina uses graphics as her main medium. In her works she conveys the dance of lines in the plasticity of the characters. Irina looks for ways to bring a static image to life - through a dynamic composition and a distorted perspective, how to capture the character of the model, through a pose, an interesting detail or work with the background. Irina Uva captures the instant beauty of the characters, showing their personalities in detail, movement, gesture and outline. Irina works with a flat image, using a limited palette, choosing contrasting but restrained combinations, concentrating on how linear forms convey the plasticity of movements and poses, the unique rhythm of the characters. The grotesqueness in the portraits of characters refers to the legendary Spanish fashion illustrator Arturo Elena, who influenced the artist. Also, this influence can be traced in unnaturally elongated figures, but, unlike Arturo, Irina Uva works with a flat image. Fashion artist Maxim Sergeev, who is Irina's teacher and mentor, also had a great impact on her work and development. In her works, the artist addresses themes like aesthetics of big cities, self-acceptance, gender diversity, emotions, individuality and self-expression, healthy lifestyle, well-being, sports, ballet, selfcare, and also from time to time she touches the topics of body positivity and feminism. Irina herself from early childhood was into classical ballet and Latin American dances, loves sports, adheres to a healthy lifestyle and has a positive outlook. The background of the artist, in the field of luxury fashion and in the experience economy, where aesthetic beauty is much emphasized and positive emotions are very important, and where she was surrounded by beautiful and bright colleagues and clients, formed the basis of her perception of the beauty.
