ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The series Collezione Ricreazione includes 21 artworks on paper exploring the idea of trial and error and how new forms can emerge from this process. They are inspired by artworks that have been discarded, revisited and transformed. The wooden structure is secured onto the forex background and is an integral part of the piece relating to the ideas of fragmentation and repurpose. Each of them is unique and handmade using fir wood. I chose this material that comes from the mountains near my studio in Northern Italy, where a recent storm has unfortunately destroyed many of these trees.

I am a painter and sculptor living and working in Italy. My process explores the aesthetics of laceration, fragmentation and error. I primarily use materials that corrode, melt, drip and change in time such as aniline, resin, wax, raw wood and found objects. I am presenting my series of drawings Collezione Ricreazione, a deconstructed puzzle of 21 artworks in pencil, pastel and aniline on paper, mounted on forex and encased in fir wood. I created the wooden structure using fir from the Asiago mountains, near my studio.
