About The Artwork

This is the first graphic work I’ve made in such a size. It was made thanks to Distil Ennui residency www.distilennui.com At the beginig I had a piece of paper with expressive black matt acrylic paint stain from 2018. A meticulous work I drew using very thin liners 0.05-0.1 mm. I immersed in work for weeks. In the residency there were a 90 square metre tan with 8 cms depth. It was filled with black water and was located in a high-ceiling black-curtained section of a inspireful industrial placement. It was an attractive point for my creative research. Waterpumps made murmur and smooth little waves. The place was truly meditative and tranquility. That water you can see on this drawing. Something dark I felt in this black tan. The water meets with wild expression of air on the middle and on the top. You can see reflections of my excitement on the water surface — it’s a expressive brave paints stroke cuts across the darkness and immerges into water and lits a surface by the reflection.

Sensitive art from a delicate soul. I immerse in sensorial perception, inner conditions. I’m trying to go deep into graphic and painting both. Usually I prefer painting to express shinny, light and bright feelings and cases of my life. Colors are so good to convey such complicated things as love. I often address myself to the topic of adunation of strength and an appearing of complete huge and light energy as a result. In graphic I single out two different fields: dark and light. On the one hand I am sensible and sustainable, on the another hand I’m emotional and sensitive. I cannot remember myself first drawing or painting, cause it was on a very early childhood. Also I don’t remember myself not drawing. When I was a kid, I had a huge kit of paints (watercolor, oil, gouache, pastel) and tools for graphic (from coal to calligraphy pens), The kit belonged to my father, there were high quality Soviet tools, I still use some of them. The first stair in the art education was an art school for children in a little Siberian criminal town named Bratsk. The town was full of fights, crime families, lawlessness and illegal activity. I knew people died around the corner and I watched criminal movies on TV considering violent death was just normal experience in real life as on TV. But this constant sensation, death is always around, influenced me a lot. I remember myself reflected on death when I was 5. At that moment I realize this extremely small distinction between life and death, how they were similar to each other. The topic of death is still with me. I was studying in Zavarzov’s workshop again, I came along into academical painting and drawing. It was a very productive time — I studied how to convey materials and textures using a 8B pencil or tempera mixed with gouache. I spent hours until arrangement becomes perfect. In 2011 I entered in Krasnoyarsk State Art Institute and started to learn graphic design. I had many experiments in painting, printmaking and drawing in the institute as well. I really felt delight in studying and I was a good student. In 2015 I got a bachelor degree. Year later I realized I have to show my works and create more. I felt and I'm still feeling I create something important and big.
