About The Artwork

150 Things was the name of my Art Thesis. It was made with charcoal on 9, 7’X4’ wood panels. It was installed in a closed-spaced room at the Sheehan Gallery in Walla Walla, WA. The title of the piece refers to a list I wrote; where I put down all the things I am ashamed of admitting about myself. Hiding and visually accepting these things made the piece. The panels on the front of the room are my “Dream World”, the place I live in my head. The panels on the left are my past and the panels on the right are my fears. They are all joined by three elements: an exposed woman, drawing on a paper, which transformed into a film role; this role developed into the “Dream World”. Then, the film appeared again, merging into the opposite panels and protecting/shielding a girl, who prefers to ignore the chaos surrounding her.
