"Arti privati 1" Drawing

Riccardo Querin was born in Turin in January 1974; as self-taught, he approached first the drawings then the paintings following an innate lean to these kinds of art. He became later a graphic designer for publishing. He began working with oil painting on 1994 stimulated by brilliant achievements and fascinated by the canvass painting. Another incentive came from the success of small expositions and consequence little sales. At the center of his productions there is the human figure, as reproduction of photos he personally takes or of subjects sheared from magazines barring any reference to the advertising and/or fashion world. The object of is art is the human figure, alone and disarmingly simple. Sometimes, its skin is torn and bruised, so watching his art is never pleasing despite the warmness of its color. Denuded of the classical beauty and made with flesh, closed spaces, sharp and disquieting shadows. The color dominates his paintings; paintings that seem to scream the alienation of the human figure from its reality.
