Atlas carries the world of debt cartoon Drawing

As he carried the weight of the world upon his shoulders, Atlas, the Greek god of navigation, who was responsible for carrying the Earth on his shoulders, suddenly felt a shift in the first decade of the 21st Century CE. In a massive shift, the burden resting squarely upon Atlas now is made up more of financial and economic problems than it has been in the past. And so this op-ed cartoon reflects that opinion about the current state of economics. With all that's gone wrong over the past ten years or so, is it really so surprising that the tired old Greek diety thinks to "shrug" the unusually heavy mass which is getting heavier with debt, bailouts, stimulus and other policies affecting the economic stability of the world?
