About The Artwork
Portrait of the great Billie Holiday. It is the second that I do in my life, 20 years apart. In 1994 I made a collection of portraits of blues musicians that I titled "The Color of the Blues", and I have shown to the public on several occasions Now, I have started a new series. On that occasion it was color drawings made from photographs in black and white. This time I opted, at least in these early works, for monochrome tones. Made with watercolor and gouache on Canson Mi-Teintes gray.
