Aboriginal Hamer tribe holds annual festivals of initiation featuring a ceremony of bull jumping. A 16-18 year old youth has to jump over the row of 6-8 bulls' backs for several times. If he managed to keep standing on his feet without collapse, he would recognized a 'true man', or 'adult man'. and entitled to choose a girl and marry.
