Death, My Friend Drawing

In this dark and striking drawing, I chose to convey an idea that had been on my mind for a good while: death and our acceptance of it. I feel like there is a misconception of death in some areas of society, and this drawing was me coming to terms with the idea that death is not something horrible and frightening, but rather a natural process, vital and necessary as life. I tend to use eyes to draw my viewers into the drawing. In order to have the command of ability to make them as striking as I can, I used pencils and pen (The mediums I feel most at home with) in hopes that they would immediately attract the eyes of anyone. They are important to me because they can convey a certain wildness that I have always cherished as also a part of me.
